VIRES IN NUMERIS
(Limited edition of 100 – each piece made to order)
Vires in numeris is part of a strictly limited edition of 100 unique sculptures, each made to order and individually engraved. While every piece shares the same conceptual structure, no two are exactly alike — each one is anchored in its owner’s story, time, and block.
The sculpture consists of 27 blocks, symbolically representing the Bitcoin timechain — from its genesis to your own point in the chain.
25 blocks are carved from solid, noble wood. They represent the countless anonymous blocks that make up the chain — uncelebrated, yet essential. Their accentuated grain reflects the passage of time and the logic of Proof of Work: visible, unforgeable, earned. Like Bitcoin, where tick tock – next block reflects the protocol’s average 10-minute rhythm, each tree adds a single growth ring per year — a natural clock, equally verifiable and impossible to fake. Both systems are built on time, work, and integrity.
Two blocks stand apart.
At the foundation, embedded inside the concrete base, lies a cast concrete block representing the Genesis Block #0 — the origin, the seed, the silent beginning. Though hidden from view, it is the structural and symbolic anchor of the entire work.
Crowning the sculpture is a block cast from melted fiat coins — real 10-cent euro pieces — fired at 1300°C. It symbolizes personal transformation: the transition from a broken monetary system to one built on truth and time. The fire acts as catharsis — burning away what was false, leaving only essence.
Its top surface is adorned with a 24K gold mempool snapshot, taken from a specific block height chosen by the buyer — marking a personal moment: a first transaction, a child’s birth, a goal achieved. The underside features a gold-plated field engraved with the block number and a custom message.
The sculpture rests on a multilayered concrete base, evoking the weight and permanence of hard money. A layer of deep black felt cradles the upper block — a subtle nod to preservation, reverence, and stillness. It also honors the invisible work beneath: decades of cryptographic research and cypherpunk vision, without which this foundation could not exist.
