In my first large format drawing, created in over 350 working hours spread over 4 months and drawn with 12 different pencils as well as dozens of pencil leads for my mechanical pencils, I present a visualization of some of the most formative events and milestones in the 16 years of Bitcoin's existence to date.
As usual, my detailed, filigree drawing style with a penchant for ancient architecture and realistic shadows to create plasticity is also a must in this work!
Several Easter eggs, consisting of numbers, words, symbols or even portraits of well-known faces from the international Bitcoin universe are included. Below is a brief list of some of the details included:
- Craigh Faketoshi Wright & Hodlonaut
- Hal Finney - Running Bitcoin
- El Salvador - Legal Tender
- The Bitcoin inflation plan
- The Blocksize Wars
- Bitcoin Pizza Day
- WikiLeaks
- Free Ross
On closer inspection, a few more Easter eggs can be found and one or two topics that are not directly related to Bitcoin can also be spotted through symbols or the structure of the drawing. The trained eye and the knowing mind will recognize it!
Pencil artwork size: 33.1 x 23.4 inches / 84.1 x 59.4 cm.
The surface of this pencil drawing is treated with original Hahnemuehle protective spray to prevent yellowing and smudging, however the drawing should still be handled with the utmost care.
For authentication, a certificate (8.2 x 11.6") consisting of a high quality handmade paper with Hahnemuehle watermark and fluorescent security fibers is used. This certificate is provided with a consecutively numbered hologram bearing an unique serial number. Date of completion and signature are added as well. A second identical hologram is located on the back of the artwork along with a signature and the block time.
