“Stainless Steel Lightning Network” is an artistic interpretation of the Lightning Network, the second layer of the Bitcoin. The rectangular work measuring 52.5 x 52.5 cm shows a circular arrangement of channels on a stainless steel surface. Fibre optic cables with varying diameters - thicker for larger, thinner for smaller payment channels - visualize the network structure.
A total of 116 LEDs were used, with an LED attached to each end of a fiber optic cable to illuminate it. By pulsating light in waves or spontaneous patterns, they represent the dynamics of the network. The contrast between cold steel and warm light creates a tension between structure and energy.
