I am a mixed media and digital artist who, overwhelmed by the importance of Bitcoin, decided to make a work of 21 unique signed, numbered and hand-intervened paintings about what Bitcoin represents politically.

"The Liberation of Satoshi" is the artwork that serves as the cover of the recently published book "The Philosophy of Bitcoin", a book written by Álvaro D. María, a very good friend of mine, that tries to explain the essence of Bitcoin. The painting is a staging of the crisis of authority of the State, which takes as a reference Hobbes' Leviathan (see the cover of that book). Hobbes depicts the State as the fusion of Power (the sword) and Authority (the crosier), and unites them under sovereignty (the crown). The painting depicts how Bitcoin (money freed from the chains of the State) wrests Authority from the State and inflicts a very deep wound, and how sovereignty escapes it in Cyberspace.
