The Work:

“The original FAKEGENESIS, depicts a gallant masked figure mounted on a glorious green horse, wearing an elaborate gold trimmed uniform, black jeans, and mid-rise sneakers. He is adorned with a large orange cloak which flows in the wind. His head is turned towards the viewer as he gestures upwards towards the mountainous peak. His right hand grasps the reins of his horse while posed prominently on its two hind legs. Keys dangle from his waist belt – “Not your keys, not your crypto”

Pepenardo’s legendary FAKEGENESIS sold for 1.625 BTC in one of Scarce City’s most infamous auctions

This Fake version retains the same figure, horse, landscape & sneakers, but is done in a black & white abstract style reminiscent of Picasso’s classic Guernica

The Artist:

Zima Blue is an artist who has work featured in Fake Rares, Notable Pepes, Rare Doge, Bitcorn and Pepeverso

"Little is known about Zima's history. They say he started in portraiture, but for Zima, the human form was too small a subject. The search for deeper meaning caused him to look further, to the cosmos itself" The Inspiration:

Pepenardo - The creator of the original FAKEGENIS. Commonly referred to as Nardo, Xnardo or Nardo X, Pepenardo is a pseudonymous artist, creative director, and dank polymath of the High Pepeaissance whose real name and identity remain unimportant yet subject to great speculation. A select few eyewitness accounts describe him as being “green, old, but wise as fuck, piercing eyes, casual - paint stained clothing, and possessing beautifully smooth dark hair”. Active since 1452, Nardo’s work epitomizes a renaissance humanist ideal in combination with dogmatic internet memetics. His career grew out of the Counterparty underground scene, the Fake Rares, which initially started as a few dozen renowned artists and musicians. Whose presence has now garnered worldwide recognition.
