After drawing for an average of 7 hours over 26 days, I completed my drawing 'Bitcoin - Enlightenment' on block 766139. A few thoughts have flown through my mind in the course of this time that I would like to share:
I always believed that nothing in the world is truly perfect, especially nothing man-made. That the universe is perfect, in all its grandeur and wholeness across unimaginable scales, from the extremely small at Planck size to constructs/systems spanning billions of light years, everything in between and therein in immeasurable complexity indispensably necessary for one or the other to be, no matter how it began, how it will end, if it will end at all, I realized years ago.
And then Bitcoin entered the stage of our world, at a time when our globalized world system almost collapsed. No one knows exactly how and by whom Bitcoin was created, but the 'why' is probably the clearest, most important and most relevant 'why' that mankind has had to face to date.
After thousands of hours and the urge to find out where the catch is, I still haven't managed to find it. I'm not a professor (admittedly: a doctorate doesn't mean much these days, unfortunately) and not a Bitcoin expert, but I'm not alone in wanting to find out exactly that. There are now millions, more people every day, who verify and still can't find a single valid hook.
And no, a fluctuating graph that is supposed to express the 'value' of a perfection by an imperfection is not a reason, rather to regret ignorance, stupidity (since it simply makes no sense to compare diamonds to sand), or just plain greed. It is equally invalid to call Bitcoin environmentally harmful and a waste of energy. Although it is a fact that Bitcoin embodies the only option to let our species finally climb the 1.0 of the Kardashov scale, which is indeed a historical achievement unparalleled in human history. Unequal to wars, overconsumption, factory farming, corruption, indifference, comfort zones, and all those, other, ugly things that take their roots in the aforementioned imperfection, of which man cannot be proud, as they do not advance him, but set him back.
The Universe on a large scale doesn't care about Bitcoin, just as Bitcoin doesn't care about mankind on our, worldly scale, and that's okay. All that matters is that it is real and it could not have found a better time to exist than now.
A way created by the human being but up to the infinity no more changeable by the human being to learn itself, to experience and to live, analogously to the universe that learns itself through the human being, experiences and lives.
