PEPEVARIUS is the Grand Archivist of the Order of Kek — a secret society of enlightened frogs who seek to preserve and spread the ancient wisdom of memes. The renowned painting depicts him with a gold pot, where he collects the tears from his eyes. These are not drops of sorrow, but of joy and illumination. They symbolize the priceless essence of frogs, whose tears are so precious and rare that they must be treated as jewels. It is said that the drops of Pepevarius’ tears grant life-giving power to the eye on the pot, which is always in search of new memes. The artist’s name is inscribed on the gold ring on the Archivist’s hand, and the portrait itself is painted with oil on an icon board, primed with the finest gesso
About artist:
Ksenia Buridanova is a surrealist artist who works with oil paints; she combines the technique of old masters with exploration of new visual forms. She creates works that show the thin line between nature and humanity. As a painter, Ksenia has a classical education and her works have been exhibited in Belgium, England, and Dubai. In 2022 & 2023, she became a finalist of the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize.
