That simple innovation revolutionised the postal system by introducing a flat fee of one penny for letter delivery, regardless of distance. Today, Bitcoin echoes that breakthrough—enabling the global transfer of value at a flat fee, irrespective of where you are on the planet.
Replacing the traditional portrait of the British monarch, The Penny Orange features Satoshi Nakamoto in a modest suit. Satoshi stands as a symbol of Bitcoin’s rise: the new king of a digital age—not born into privilege, untouched by celebrity, and unbound by nation-states. Satoshi represents all of us.
Each Penny Orange 25 Up consists of a sheet of 25 stamps—hence the name—crafted using traditional stamp perforation techniques and risographic printing. The backing board, influenced by Victorian design, is produced with classic letterpress methods.
