“Free Yourself” - Amber Resin Cast

This is one of only 2 reproductions of my first marble sculpture, cast in amber resin. The only other version of this amber resin cast belongs to Natalie Brunell and is featured in the background on her podcast.

The idea of the original sculpture and this one in turn, was to show the Bitcoin symbol freeing itself from a block of rough stone. This was my homage to Michelangelo’s “non finito” style of sculpture wherein various subjects were portrayed in the process of emerging from the block. This idea resonated with me on multiple levels, but especially because of what Bitcoin means for the individual and its ability to let us free ourselves from the shackles of a world built on fiat currency.

This sculpture also includes a limited edition orange Opendime that fits into the niche on the back.
