Art is not a crime. It is a fundamental right.
SCⱯRCE celebrates the victory of a freedom-of-speech legend.
In August 2022, the Adams County Sheriff's Office raided the home of Joseph Foreman, aka Afroman, looking for evidence of drug trafficking and kidnapping. They found nothing. No charges were ever filed.
Afroman didn’t let it slide. He turned the scene into art. His home security cameras caught the raid, and he flipped that footage into music videos putting the deputies on blast for the world to see.
Their response? Seven of them sued him. Defamation. "Invasion of privacy." Three years of legal pressure designed to shut him up and bury the footage. A textbook attempt to weaponize the courts against art and free speech.
On March 18, 2026, at 6:25 PM EST, timestamped forever on Bitcoin Block 941,204, freedom won. An Ohio jury came back unanimous in Afroman's favor, throwing out all 13 claims. Afroman walked out of the courthouse draped in his American flag suit. Freedom in the flesh.
