FAKEBTCTKVR is a collaboration between the Bitcoin Takeover magazine (written and created by Vlad Costea, and open sourced on btctkvr.com) and Rare Scrilla (the mastermind behind the Fake Rare movement, which enabled a Rare Pepe Renaissance on Bitcoin’s Counterparty protocol).
By participating to this auction, you are expressing interest in owning one of the 100 tokenized magazines. Every physical copy of this limited print is backed 1:1 by a FAKEBTCTKVR token. Upon purchasing a FAKEBTCTKVR Counterparty asset from the Scarce City auction, you should provide a shipping address to receive the magazine.
The 2022 version of the BTCTKVR magazine comes in two volumes which offer a total of 246 pages of content. Volume 1 (118 pages) presents the unique cover which is designed by Bitcoin artist and frog meme expert Rare Scrilla. Volume 2 (130 pages) is a complete guide of the Bitcoin Takeover podcast, which describes the first 109 episodes of the show – of which Scrilla is also part in S3 E11.
FAKEBTCTKVR is the perfect marriage between physical and digital collectible art: as the lucky winners are going to secure for themselves a copy of the 2022 version of the BTCTKVR magazine and one of the FAKEBTCTKVR tokens on Counterparty.
Beware the rareness, though: the 100 Bitcoin NFTs will only be on auction on the Scarce City website during the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami, FL (April 6-9 2022). It doesn’t matter if you’re not physically attending the event, as the bidding takes place online and everyone around the world gets equal chances to secure their copy. Unsold tokens will be destroyed, so you won’t get another opportunity to get this limited edition.
FAKEBTCTKVR is part of the Fake Rare directory and, even in the absence of its otherwise inseparable magazine, has value among collectors. The FAKEASF token, which gave birth to the directory and needs to be burned whenever a new entry gets submitted, currently sells for 0.035 BTC.
Sales start at the BTC equivalent of approx 210 USD. After every copy gets sold, the next one becomes more expensive by 4,400 sats (~$2). Therefore, the first copy of FAKEBTCTKVR will cost $210, while the 100th one will go for approx. $420. Hurry up before they’re all gone, they will never get any more affordable than this.
All copies are manually signed and numbered by BTCTKVR magazine author Vlad Costea, as well as stamped with the signature of cover artist Rare Scrilla.
