This unique sculpture consists of 27 blocks, representing a segment of the Bitcoin blockchain. 26 of these blocks are crafted from solid, noble wood, emphasizing the natural beauty of the material. The accentuated grain of the wood symbolically represents the Proof of Work in Bitcoin: Each growth ring in the wood represents a specific period of time—one year—and thus reflects the “Proof of Work” of the tree. Similarly to Bitcoin, where on average a new block is added every 10 minutes, the grain illustrates the continuous work and development.

The 27th block stands out due to its extraordinary materiality: It is made from melted fiat euro coins (10-cent pieces), processed at 1300°C. The transition from the old world of fiat money to a future built on the Bitcoin standard is a challenging process. The heat of the melting process symbolizes the necessary disruption and transformation. In the end, the substance remains, but it is transformed into real money that is no longer tainted by unjust mechanisms. The fire acts as a purifier, turning the sick fiat money into something pure and beautiful.

On the top of this block, the mempool of the corresponding block height is intricately displayed in 24-carat gold. A particular highlight of the sculpture is the option for personalization. The buyer can customize a block according to their wishes—whether it be to commemorate the moment of their first Bitcoin purchase or significant personal events, such as the birth of a child. The customized block displays the corresponding mempool on top, while the underside features a gold-plated (also 24K) field, showing the block height and space for a personal message.


The sculpture rests on a concrete base, whose materiality not only recalls the robustness and indestructibility of Bitcoin but also "hard money." Additionally, the concrete symbolizes the roughly 30 years of foundational research by cryptographers and cypherpunks on which Bitcoin is built. Without this deep groundwork, the creation of Bitcoin would not have been possible.
