This coin comes from the personal collection of Charlie Shrem, one of Bitcoin’s earliest entrepreneurs and Founding Director of the Bitcoin Foundation. Preserved in its original presentation case, it stands as both a collectible and a personal relic, linking one of the space’s most important early figures to one of the rarest physical Bitcoin issuers.

The coin’s obverse carries the bold inscription “In Crypto We Trust”, encircled with a laurel wreath and the BTCC 1K Bits emblem in orange and blue. The reverse bears the signature BTCC holographic security seal, under which lies the private key, allowing the coin to function as a true bearer instrument of Bitcoin ownership.

Historical Context: BTCC Mint was created by BTCC (formerly BTC China), one of the world’s earliest and largest Bitcoin exchanges. Founded by Bobby Lee, BTCC issued these coins as a successor to Casascius, Lealana, and Denarium — bridging the tradition of physical Bitcoin into the Asian market with a focus on limited editions, holographic integrity, and collectibility.

Where Casascius coins (2011–2013) were the pioneering form, and Lealana (2013–2014) and Denarium (2015 onward) carried the torch, BTCC represented the next chapter.
