Satoshi’s Reserve 2023

Each year I taste every barrel and select the single best expression of the vintage for Satoshi’s Reserve. This is the highest standard I hold for Peony Lane wine, set against the bar that Satoshi established. This wine is drinking beautifully now and will age gracefully in cold storage for whatever milestone you choose to hold it for. Only 210 bottles exist, each numbered 1 through 210. Bottles numbered 1 through 21 will only be released through this auction.

The Wine

The 2023 Satoshi’s Reserve is Estate Pinot Noir, grown by Ben Justman in Paonia, Colorado, within the highest elevation wine region in North America. High elevation lends itself to a light and bright Pinot Noir, with elegant fruit and acidity that holds it together. It drinks clean and refreshing either on its own or with lighter meals.

- Farmed without herbicides or pesticides

- Made with minimal sulfites and no toxic additives

Wine from this vineyard has proven its ability to age. We have opened bottles after 18 years that were still improving. This wine is well suited for long-term cold storage.

Auction Structure

There are three auction lots:

- Bottle #1

- Bottle #21

- Bottles #2 through #20 a grouped lot.

For the grouped lot, the highest bidder selects their bottle number first, then selections proceed in descending bid order.

Shipping is available within the United States only. International shipping is not available. A signature will be required at delivery. If preferred, wine can be shipped to a nearby UPS store for pickup and held for up to seven days. Orders will ship in mid-February.
